Rev. Brennan Hurley

Lead Pastor

Brennan was appointed to be the Associate Pastor here at FUMC and the pastor of Stonington United Methodist Church in 2021.  He was appointed as the Lead Pastor in 2024.  Originally from Carlinville, IL, Brennan received his Bachelors degree from Greenville College and his Masters of Divinity from Duke University.  Brennan is married to Jenna, and they have two daughters, Caroline and Charlotte.  Brennan enjoys running, laughing, preaching, and reading, though not at the same time!

Rev. Sheryl Van Dyke

Associate Pastor

Sheryl is a long-time educator, growing up in many places as the daughter of an Airman.  She currently lives in Nokomis with her husband, Jeff, who is a United Methodist pastor.  Sheryl has a Master’s of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary.

We are very excited to be members of the FUMC leadership team and give back to our church family!  Christian is a civil engineer, and Liz is a school psychologist.  We are proud parents of our baby girl, Lane.  We enjoy spending our free time playing with her and exploring the community!

Judy Foxall

Judy does it all!  With a passion for cooking and serving others, Judy loves to see others happy.  She loves animals and has had many pets over the years.  She has three children, Elizabeth, Angie, and Brian.

Treasurer

Jeff started attending FUMC in 2011, joining the church on Christmas Day.  His tenure as Treasurer began in January of 2013. He came experienced formerly being the treasurer of the Wyoming United Methodist Church in the 90’s and early 2000’s.  Jeff manages Westervelt Mutual Insurance Company in Westervelt, IL and is an agent for Likes Insurance Agency, in Stonington.  Jeff has 5 adult children scattered across the country and 9 grandchildren.  Besides work and community involvement, Jeff raises chickens on his rural Taylorville acreage and dabbles in woodworking.
